Mayfield's Below Zero Hero Milkshake Recipe Contest - a yummy way to win $10,000!

Mayfield has a fun and yummy contest going on this summer.

What is your favorite Milkshake recipe?  In a survey conducted for our local Mayfield Dairy®, 86 percent of participants chose various types of fresh fruit as the ingredients they’d most like to add to their milkshakes. The survey kicks off the second annual Below Zero Hero™ milkshake recipe contest. For a chance to win a $10,000 grand prize, submit your favorite recipes at www.BelowZeroHero.com through August 15.

The Survey Shakedown
Strawberries are the most popular mix-in, scoring a vote from 71 percent of Americans. Bananas rank second with 64 percent choosing the filling fruit as a favorite addition.

Sweets like chocolate candy and cookies were the next most desired ingredients, with 54 and 52 percent of participants wanting to try them in their milkshakes respectively.

Males prefer chocolate candy more (56 percent) than females (52 percent) when it comes to getting creative with their milkshakes.

Adults 18-50 are more likely to try a sweet mix-in than those aged 50+.

In total, fruits received more mentions than sweets (86 percent vs. 81 percent) as potential milkshake ingredients.

Once your family creates a winning recipe, enter it through August 15 in the Below Zero Hero milkshake recipe contest at BelowZeroHero.com for a chance to win $10,000.  A panel of culinary judges will pick the top 10 recipes nationally based on overall appeal, originality and taste. The recipes will be posted online on August 25 for consumers to test and vote for their favorites, and winners will be announced in early September. The first place winner will receive $10,000, second place $3,000 and third place $1,000.

Visit BelowZeroHero.com or the contest’s Facebook or Twitter pages for recipes and tips on making the tastiest and most imaginative milkshake creations, as well as fun coloring pages for the kids to use during milkshake night.
